What We Believe

We believe Jesus the Christ was both God and man; that He was born of a virgin and that He lived a sinless life, in which He taught and did mighty works, wonders and signs exactly as revealed in the four Gospels; that He was falsely accused and murdered on a Cross on a hill called Calvary; that He died for the sins of all mankind. Further, He raised Himself from the grave in bodily form on the third day just as He said He would.  We believe He ascended to Heaven to sit at His Father’s right hand where He is the head of the church and where He intercedes for His followers. We believe Jesus will one day return and bring with him all of those who have followed Him. (Colossians 1:15-20; John 1:1-5; John 14:1-4)

We believe salvation is the free gift of God to all mankind for all have sinned; it is not deserved or earned and can only be received by accepting and confessing Jesus Christ as the Son of God. We believe we are saved by God’s grace and by placing our faith in Jesus the Christ. We respond in faith through repentance, confession of the Christ as Lord, baptism by immersion, and living a life led by the Holy Spirit. (John 11:25; Romans 10:9-13; Romans 4:16; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 2:4-5; Mark 16:15,16; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:38; Acts 8:36-39; 1 Peter 3:21)

We believe there is only one God, existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Romans 8, Ephesians 1:13-14)

We believe God in the form of the Son, Jesus the Christ, is the Creator of the universe. (Genesis 1:26; Colossians 1:15-20; John 1:1-5)

We believe in the promise of the Holy Spirit of God and the physical indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the followers of Christ. (John 14:15-17)

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and the final authority in all things. We believe because the Holy Spirit inspires all the writings recorded in the Bible it is living, active and sharper than a sword. (2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12)

We believe God the Father sent His only Son Jesus into the world to save us from our sins and that He willingly gave his life as a sacrifice for our sins. (John 3:16; 1 Peter 3:18)

We believe the Church is a living organism, not an organization. It is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue the task of reaching the lost and discipling the saved, helping them to become maturing followers of Christ.  At Graceway there are no “immature” or “mature” Christians, there are only maturing Christians. Together we’re all growing and maturing in Christ. We believe the Church is not defined by or limited to a denomination, organization, synod or entity other than Christ Himself.  Further, we are compelled to not use anything as a condition of fellowship that God has not made a condition of salvation.  (Ephesians 4:1-16)

We believe we that as the body of Christ we make this journey together. We walk together, following Christ and led by the Spirit.  Our purpose is to lead as many as we can to  Jesus. Because with Jesus the Grace is free and the Love is real.

Verse of the Day

“[BOOK ONE (Psalms 1–41)][Psalm 1] Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night.” — Psalm 1:1-2 Listen to chapter Holy Bible.
